Dr. Sylvain Allaboe is currently lecturer and Director of West African Baptist Advanced School of Theology (WABAST) / Ecole Supérieure Baptiste de Théologie de l’Afrique de l’Ouest (ESBTAO), pastor at International Baptist Chapel of Lomé (IBCL) / Chapelle International Baptiste de Lomé (CIBL).
After an engineering degree from University and six years working as professional in Benin, he went for theological study and obtained a Bth from WABAST/ESBTAO, a MA in Theology from FATEAC in Abidjan, a Postgraduate Certificate in Theological Education from Belfast Bible College in Northern Ireland and a PhD in theology from South African Theological Seminary (SATS).
He is married to Sabine and they have five children.
At ABTEN 2019, Dr. Allaboe spoke on the topic of “Responding to Socio-Cultural Realities in Africa” in which he addresses the question of the quality of Christianity in Africa and the relevance of African and non-African scholars’ contributions in shaping a sound, solid and authentic Christianity on the continent.
